If you have the money or a good health plan, you can check into a residence rehab and they will make you comfortable. If not, try AA and ask your sponser confidentially.

Ways To Detox Your Body From Drugs - Why Consider a Detox Cleanse

Ways To Detox Your Body From Drugs

Maybe you have read a lot of articles discussing detox diets, both its benefits as well as its drawbacks. And because of the wide range of opinions, you are now confused as to whether or not you should try a detoxification regimen.

The proponents of cleanses believe that they can be very effective in helping you eliminate waste build-up. And within just a few days of starting the detox cleanse, you will lose several pounds. The opponents, on the other hand, may tell you that cleanses are not necessary nor healthy, and have some side effects that are not worth the try.Ways To Detox Your Body From Drugs

What then should you believe? Perhaps you should try cleansing for yourself before you decide.
We believe that periodic detox cleansing with all-natural cleanses can only improve your health. Through a cleanse, you are giving your digestive system a rest, and eliminating built-up waste and toxins. In general, detox cleanses do not involve ingesting anything that may be harmful to your body. A detox cleanse can really jump start your way to healthier way of living.

Although the body is equipped with organs such as the kidney and liver that are designed to perform cleansing filtration for the body, sometimes our bodies can be run down and our systems compromised. A detox cleanse can assist the cleansing functions of the body by relieving it temporarily and allowing the organs to return to its maximum capabilities. Ways To Detox Your Body From Drugs

Aging can also be another motivation for you to undergo detoxification as toxins can cause aging and deterioration. Through a detox cleanse, toxins are flushed out of your system. In this way, detoxification is better than taking drugs and medication that claim to prevent aging. Taking in drugs and medication will only fill your body with more toxins.

Most professionals believe that detoxification should not be performed for a long period of time. Optimally, cleanses should be performed a few times a year. Many cleanse proponents enjoy cleansing with each changing of the season. Higher frequency is not necessary unless cleansing is used for weight loss purposes.

A detox cleanse is a great way to maintain your health and keep it in good shape. You will have greater protection against illnesses and diseases because your system is purified and cleansed. With moderation and proper guidance, you can never go wrong with a detox cleanse.

But the only way to know how your body will react to a detox cleanse is to try it for yourself. Your body will tell you pretty immediately how it feels about a detox cleanse. After the initial two to three days of a cleanse (which can be challenging especially if you've led an unhealthy lifestyle), you should feel an increase in energy level, and an improvement in your digestion. Even your skin might look more radiant. So give it a try and decide for yourself! Ways To Detox Your Body From Drugs

How to pay for detox from perscription drugs?

Question by John W: How to pay for detox from perscription drugs?
My mom is addicted to Norco and Xanax. She desperately wants to get off, but all these detox programs in our area cost thousands of dollars we don't have. She is currently living off of SSI and I am a full time college student. Is there some way we could do this cheaply or for free? Are there any charities out there that do this kind of thing for people? She's been addicted for over five years and her health is starting to deteriorate as a result. She's tried cold turkey, as well as every relevant phone number in the book (including local churches). It seems like we've exhausted every possible option we know of. Any suggestions?
I live in northern California, San Fransisco Bay Area

Answer by Trisha
There are programs available that are free. You did not mention the state you live. I had a family member who was addicted to prescription drugs and the detox (2 week stay) was free. She was receiving little income before her treatment,,so I'm not sure if low-income was a factor.

Alcohol Detox How To - How Do I Detox From Alcohol?

Alcohol Detox How To

The process of detoxifying from alcohol takes from three to seven days. The length of time to complete the detox process varies from one person to another depending on type of alcoholic beverage typically consumed, length of time as an alcoholic, size of the person, and the tolerance level for alcohol. Alcohol Detox How To

Detox should only be undertaken with medical supervision, preferably a doctor's. One of the safest methods for detoxifying the body is at an in-patient treatment center. Medical personnel who are trained and experienced in alcohol and drug withdrawal are available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. They can monitor vital signs, administer medications and ensure that adequate food and fluid intake is maintained.

In many cases the alcoholic isn't 100% committed to this new way of life at the detox phase. The effects of detox can make even the strongest person pause. Knowingly subjecting yourself to possible tremors, anxiety, sweating, nausea and vomiting isn't the most appealing idea. That's why locating support before the detox process begins is critical.

Family members, friends, or co-workers can give advice, encouragement and support. For someone who's not comfortable going to people he or she knows, Alcoholics Anonymous and other similar support groups can provide an anonymous source of assistance. Alcohol Detox How To

Once in the detox center, withdrawal symptoms can begin to appear anywhere from 3 hours to two days after the last drink. When the discomfort of withdrawal begins, the alcoholic is very likely to relapse without detox experts being on hand or nearby. That's because, up to the point of detox, alcohol has always relieved the withdrawal symptoms, and the patient now wants the same relief using the same substance.

Instead, the detox process will use prescription drugs. Some, like Klonepin, are used to reduce the physical symptoms. This does not mean that the recovering alcoholic will not experience any withdrawal symptoms during alcohol detox. Klonepin and similar drugs will, however, ease the symptoms. The detox process might involve the shakes (delirium tremens, or DTs) rather than vomiting, or hyperactivity and sleeplessness rather than convulsions. Alcohol Detox How To

Administration of Klonepin and close medical monitoring may be all that's needed to get the alcoholic through the withdrawal and detox phase. However, in approximately 1 out of 4 patients, an anticonvulsant like clonazepam or diazepam may be administered.

Recovery from alcohol addiction can't take place until the alcoholic has gone through the detox process. While the drug (alcohol) is still in the body, the body craves more. It's only after the body has been freed from the grip of the drug that the recovery process can begin.

True freedom from alcohol is a lifelong process. The alcoholic must first decide to stop drinking. Then he or she needs to detox from the alcohol, and once through detox move forward into lifelong recovery. It's not the most pleasant process, but it's definitely worth it. A support group and a good detox program can make all the difference between success and failure. Alcohol Detox How To
