I’ve probably eaten enough sugar for 10 lifetimes. I am absolutely addicted to it and have struggled for decades to overcome it. I haven’t succeeded yet.

@GalaxyRose15 What do you call a normal diet? You NEVER have to diet to lose weight. Diets don’t work, they are a scam. You don’t start a diet, lose weight, and then return to eating the way you use to. Eating junk food, drinking soda, etc is not normal. To lose weight, learn how to eat healthy, and exercise a couple times a week minimum. That is it. It’s super easy, and anyone in the entire world can do it. You can eat unhealthy stuff, just not everyday.

@killlagger468 Sugar is not the problem. People ingesting too much sugar is the problem. If someone is dumb enough to think soda, candy, and junk food are ok to eat and drink all the time, they deserve to be unhealthy.

when you’ve lost enough weight how should you return to a normal diet without gaining weight back?

I like your videos, I really do – but you’re killing your own message with all the sugar treats on the screen behind you! I’m having a hard time buying into your message about fruit vs refined sugar, when all I can think about are the cookies and candy images!!

@aleterra C(12)H(22)O(11) and C(2)H(5)OH. are completely different. one actually is derived from the other i agree and in any regards both have potential for abuse. but i don’t see one being restricted like the other. and you certainly don’t have to be a certain age to get one from the other. let alone go to a specialized store or gathering to get it. so the issue stay, but hey. it will never change, politicians love to drink and eat sweets, god forbid you take any of those away.

This video was done in 2008 but hopefully you’ll still read this. I want to know what cooking your fruits and veggies does to change the food. I’d also like to know the difference between fresh, frozen, and canned.

Everything I read about prediabetes suggests that insulin receptors are the problem and that getting fat somehow “dumbs down” our receptors making the pancreas produce more insulin….and insulin knocks out the hormone leptin’s affect on the brains pleasure or reward center which makes us stop eating….

Okinawas ate sweet potato, fish and veggies. The refined sugars, flours and rice take out Mn, Zn, Mg, Cr, Fe, vitamin E etc…. the fist of these nutrients is needed by the cell to grab the insulin, make the insulin etc… Man pulled out the nutrients we needed to handle the sugary food and we are going diabetic

Although Japan’s smoking rate is very high compared to USA and European countries, Japanese ppl has the longest life expectancy in the world. I think it means having too much sugar is more harmful than smoking. Japan’s per-capita volume of sugar consumption is the lowest among developed countries. Anyway, it is certain that obesity people who don’t smoke can’t live longer than smokers who try to eat healthy.

I just wonder if you can put less photos of sugar in the background, because it seems like it is tempting me to eat them and that I have a bit of difficulties in concentrating in the video……I know I am being a loser, but thank you for the video. It is very imformative.

Sugar is probably the only substance which is both addictive and legal to sell to children. it’s sick really I hate and love it, but I wish they would put restrictions on it’s use the way they did with transfats.

@killlagger468 I think it’s a vicious cycle – if I eat good food then I have enough energy to cook good food! If I eat crap then I don’t have enough energy to make a good meal, and I’m more likely to buy frozen meals or hit Burger King. For me, it was very helpful when a friend gave me a boost by spending a day with me making a bunch of very healthy chicken pot pies which I could freeze. That way when I have a low energy day there is healthy food waiting for me at home. It broke the cycle.
